Case study

Building a nationwide specialty lending program on one platform

A community bank needed one lending operation that could handle customers, dealers, specialty collateral, state-specific documents and electronic signatures without splitting the work across separate systems.

The challenge

The lender was building a direct-lending program for a wide mix of collateral, including golf carts, powersports, tractors, mowers, trailers, equipment and other specialty assets. Applications could come from consumers or dealers, and a single loan could include more than one piece of collateral.

The process also had to account for lender-defined program rules, credit review, budgeting, verification, dealer communication and funding requirements. Documents added another layer: the right state-specific forms had to be generated from application data and prepared for electronic signature.

What LAUNCHER built

LAUNCHER configured appTRAKER around the lender’s actual process rather than forcing the program into a generic auto-loan workflow.

Applications entered through myLOAN or the Dealer Portal. Automated processing handled bureau pulls, lender-defined rules, budget calculations and program eligibility before the application reached an underwriter. The underwriting workspace was configured around the lender’s loan structure, collateral and pricing requirements, while verification and funding controls carried the application through completion.

Carleton Origination was used for TILA calculations. Application data could then be merged into the appropriate forms and form packs for the borrower’s state.

63 forms mapped across 48 states, and 62 enabled for eSign.

The document operation was later expanded with Wolters Kluwer and DocuSign. LAUNCHER created state-specific form packs and applied rules determining which supporting forms belonged in each one.

The result

The lender gained one operating workflow for a lending program that crosses collateral types, application channels and state requirements. Underwriters, verifiers and dealers work from the same application record, while calculations, program rules, documents and eSign remain tied to that record.

The result is not a separate process for every specialty asset or every state. It is one lending platform configured around the way the lender actually does business.
